Anime Review: Ginban Kaleidoscope

I must say that I enjoyed watching this series until I saw the end. The ending is bitter sweet (meaning that they ended it in a way that gives you a feeling that it’s completed but you just know that they could of gone on with it). Anyways, if don’t mind spoilers, read on.
First, a discription, since I suck at them, I’ll just quote what ANN has:

“16-year old Sakurano Tazusa is a Japanese figure ice-skater who considers herself to be worth $10 billion in beauty. While executing her moves in the Women’s Figure Skating Grand Prix, she stumbled and landed badly, hence resulting in her loss in the competition. At the same time, in the same city, a Canadian youth by the name of Pete Pumps was performing an air stunt when his plane crashes and he dies. Tazusa starts to hear a strange voices and realises that the Canadian ghost now resides in her body. After futile attempts to get rid of Pete, Tazusa decides to get accustomed to his presence and in the meantime, improve on her techniques in order to get selected for the Olympics.”

Now, onto what I really want to say.

This series is 12 eps long, so it’s pretty short, how they fit it all in is pretty suppressing but they did it pretty good. But the ending was just really bitter sweet. I mean, they just have him “poof” disappeared. At least show us that Peet went into heaven and is now watching over Tazusa as her garndering angel, or, better yet (which is pretty much any anime, actually) have him come back into human form and actually start dating her. Either that or make the series longer because it’s just too short. But, huh, can’t win everybody it seems… Anyways, I’m more likely try to find the manga and read it and see if it’s any better.

I hoped you enjoyed today’s review.
